Earlier this year, Dee Dee Asad and Little Egypt brought my long-time friend and mentor, Randa Kamel, to Chicago for a workshop weekend and gala show.

As usual, the event attracted over 100 dancers from North America – several States, Canada and Mexico were all in attendance.

My dance company, Raksanna’s Near East Dance Ensemble, had the distinct honor to open the Saturday show. We performed a fun medley that combined my original choreography to Dr. Samy Farag’s Howa Habibi, Alf Layla We Leilya and Momo Kadous’ choreography to a fun loving Saidi pop song.

It was a fantastic moment in our lives and I am so proud of my team! Hip scarves off to Raksanna’s Near East Dance Ensemble!
